PESHAWAR, Jan 7: Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has stressed the need for continuing the struggle to completely eradicate polio from society. He was talking to WHO's Geneva-based representative Dr Chris Maher, who was accompanied by Islamabad representatives of WHO and Unicef Dr Khalif Bila and Dr Karl Tinesmanin, respectively, at the Governor's House here on Wednesday.

He told the delegation that the government machinery and elected representatives were actively involved in the anti-polio campaigns. Dr Chris Maher and Dr Khalif Bila on this occasion said that the polio eradication programme in six countries, including Pakistan, was being focused upon internationally.
