TOBA TEK SINGH, Jan 7: The Government Vocational Training Institute officials have appropriated funds worth millions of rupees, alleged District Mohasba Committee convener Chaudhry Muhammad Bashir.

In a memorandum sent toChief Minister Pervaiz Elahi on Wednesday, he complained that the VTI chairman had recently awarded contract of purchase of 85 computers to his brother-in-law whose firm was not registered with the sales tax department and he had used a fake registration number for the purpose.

He further alleged that defective and substandard computers were supplied to the VTI and the funds were also wasted on the purchase of substandard furniture for the institute.

SISTERS ABDUCTED: Two sisters were abducted by seven men at the Rajana forest near Chak 284-GB, on Wednesday. Reports said Sakina Bibi and Zinab Bibi were cutting trees for firewood in the forest where Zahoor Ahmad and his six accomplices took them away at gunpoint. Rajana police have registered a case on the complaint of the girls' brother, Muhammad Yousaf.
