HYDERABAD, Jan 7: Speakers at a seminar held here on Tuesday demanded that articles of the Constitution which were creating impediments in the restoration of a true democracy and the supremacy of parliament should be expunged.

The seminar was organized by the Sindh Social Forum at the Sindh Museum. In a resolution, the seminar demanded that a commission, comprising representatives of the four provinces, should be appointed to resolve the water issue.

The seminar also opposed the corporate farming system and demanded revival of sick industrial units. In another resolution, it said relations with neighbouring countries should be improved by holding dialogue on contentious issues. Speaking on the occasion, Awami Tehrik chief Rasool Bux Palijo said due to the shortage of water, rich agricultural land of Sindh had been destroyed.
