LAHORE, Jan 6: With the exception of Kashif Mahmood, all other probables appeared for the two-day trials, which started at Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday to select team for Asia Under-17 Cup cricket tournament to be held in India from Jan 13.

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman, Shaharyar Muhammad Khan, had instructed that fresh trials be held under a newly constituted three-member comittee, after rejecting the earlier selected team by Aamir Sohail and his committee on Friday, due to allegations of nepotism.

Meanwhile Mushtaq Ahmad, who is a member of the new committee could not reach the venue due to his father's sudden death. He was replaced by former Test bowler, Aaqib Javed. Col (retd.) Naushad Ali and Abdul Raqib are other twomembers of the committee.

In a related development, open trials were arranged at PCB Academy ground to give other probables a chance too. In all, 50 probables appeared from among whom, Awais Rehmani as wicket-keeper and Mohsin Sultan were selected by two-member subcommittee of Mohsin Kamal and Ali Zia. The two probables will appear in the main trials on Wednesday.

Kashif Mahmood, who had been picked for the earlier selected team as wicket-keeper, did not attend the trials, despite reaching the venue.
