PESHAWAR, Jan 6: The Peshawar High Court on Tuesday rejected the bail petition of a person accused of human trafficking. A single bench comprising Justice Dost Muhammad Khan observed that the accused-petitioner, Abdul Aziz, was directly charged by the complainant for receiving money from him on account of sending them abroad.
The accused was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency Passport Circle after an FIR was registered against him on April 3, 2003. The complainant Muhammad Sabir belonging to Quetta stated that the accused Abdul Aziz and his brother Akber Khan, resident of Dalazak Road Peshawar, had received a sum of Rs 2.7 million from him and two of his friends on account of sending them abroad to European countries. He said that the two accused had been dealing in the business of sending people to European and Gulf states.
The accused, Abdul Aziz, was arrested by the FIA, whereas Akber Khan has been absconding. They were charged under section 14 of the Foreigners Act and sections 419, 420, 468 and 471 of Pakistan Penal Code. The petitioner's counsel contended that he was falsely implicated in the case and he had not been dealing in human trafficking.
BAIL GRANTED: The court of additional district and sessions judge, Shehbar Khan, granted bail here on Tuesday to a person charged in the abduction case of a former MNA's grandson. The court directed that the accused-applicant Maazullah Khan should be released after furnishing two sureties of Rs100,000 each.
The accused was charged in an FIR registered by the local police on Oct 21, 2003, against abduction of the grandson of Haji Behroz, a former MNA from Mohmand Agency.
The applicant's advocate Asadullah Chamkani argued that the accused has got nothing to do with the abduction. He pointed out that Haji Behroz had charged another person for the abduction of his grandson in a complaint filed with the tribal administration of Mohmand Agency.
