HYDERABAD, Jan 2: In order to update and revise the electoral roll, the Election Commission has appointed one registration officer each for Hyderabad, Badin, Thatta and Dadu districts.

The EC has also appointed 43 registration officers for Hyderabad, 24 for Badin, 16 for Thatta and 22 for Dadu districts. Similarly, eight revising authorities have been appointed for Hyderabad, five for Badin, five for Thatta and seven for Dadu district.

The commission has also set up 985 display centres for Hyderabad, 391 for Badin, 487 for Thatta and 650 for Dadu district. The eligible voters have been advised to visit the display centres to check the electoral roll and file claims for inclusion of voters' names, objections for deletion of the names of dead voters and corrections in particulars in the existing electoral rolls.

In cases of any inconvenience/information, the voters have been advised to contact the deputy election commissioner or assistant election commissioner /registration officer, Hyderabad, assistant election commissioners /registration officers, Badin, Thatta and Dadu.

Filing of claims, objections and applications for corrections with the revising authorities or registration officers should be completed by Jan 22.The claim, objection and correction process will be completed between Jan 23 and Feb 11 and the preparation of manuscript list between Feb 12 and March 2. The revised electoral rolls will be published on March 8.
