PESHAWAR, May 16: Cantt station headquarters has planned here a traffic week from May 27 to create awareness among locals for abiding by traffic rules.

An official statement here on Thursday says that the week is being organised on the instructions of Peshawar Logistic Area Headquarters.

Main focus will be laid on highway code, traffic rules, checking over-speeding, unauthorised parking, use of pressure horns, overloading, checking of improper-tuned vehicles to avoid air pollution, and efficient traffic management by civil police duly augmented by the Military Police.

Major Anjum Feroze, Station Transport Officer of Peshawar, has been made chief organiser/coordinator for the week-long event, which will be extensively advertised on media.

All local newspapers have been requested to arrange special editions as Traffic Week Supplements to educate public in the city on this issue.

Arrangements are also being chalked out to use local media for a three-lecture series on traffic matters followed by a quiz programme.—APP
