Anti-polio campaign

LAHORE, Aug 30: Some 13.9 million children below the age of five years will be administered anti-polio vaccine drops across the Punjab during Sept 3-5.

The campaign is part of the Extended Programme of Immunization launched to eradicate polio from the country with the assistance of WHO and Unicef. The Punjab has constituted 32,463 teams for administering the drops.

The vaccination teams will go door-to-door to vaccinate children. The health department has also set up vaccination camps at public places including airports, railway stations, bus stands. The current year has already been declared as polio-free year.
