Two more killed in tribal feud

SUKKUR, Aug 30: Tension is high in the Jarwar and Mirpur Mathelo areas following the killing of two more Bozdar tribesmen by Lunds, raising to six the death toll in the dispute between the tribes which started last week.

Migration on a large scale was reported from Mir Khan Gabol village to safer areas. Most of the residents of the village are Bozdar.

According to reports, five gunmen of Bozdar tribe killed Ali Nawaz, son of Rasool Bux Bozdar, and Bashir Ahmed, son of Koro Bozdar, on Thursday night.

The incident created panic in the area and the Bozdars have confined themselves to their houses.

Efforts by tribal chief Sardar Ali Goher Khan Maher, District Nazim Sardar Ahmed Ali Khan Patafi and former provincial assembly member Rahim Bux Bozdar for reconciliation went in vain after the murder of two Bozdar men.

On Saturday, one Sadiq Bozdar tried to snatch a motorcycle from one Munir Chadhar, when he cried for help, Lunds tribesmen rushed to the area and gunned down Sadiq. After the incident, the Bozdars attacked the Lunds and killed Mubarik Lund, Eiden Lund and Mitthan Lund.

KILLED: A landlord of Jahan Khan Sodhro, Abdul Rehman Sodhro, was gunned down by dacoits near Mirpur Mathelo and his son, Mohammad Sodhro, 8, received bullet injury and was admitted to a hospital in serious condition on Friday.

According to reports five armed dacoits raided the village and tried to take away cattle. When Abdul Rehman resisted, the dacoits opened fire Killing him and injuring his son.
