ISLAMABAD, Aug 30: The petroleum minister, Usman Aminuddin, has directed the Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP) to gear up the pace of work on the development projects so that their proper and timely completion could be ensured.

He was presiding over the 61st meeting of the Board of Governors of the institute here on Friday.

In view of the rapidly expanding CNG market, the Board reviewed the working of the industry with special reference to safety measures, inspection procedures, regulatory framework including the measurement system being used in the country.

The minister expressed serious concern at the working of CNG station opened by HDIP in Islamabad and directed immediate remedial action.

The Board also reviewed the progress of other projects. It was also decided to hold a CNG/LPG seminar later this year with full participation of all stakeholders.
