LANDI KOTAL, Feb 15: The bomb disposal squad defused two high intensity bombs here on Sunday, officials said.

They said that unidentified saboteurs had placed about 20 kilogram explosive material at the Computer Market in Landi Kotal Bazaar but a watchman spotted it and told local authorities about the suspicious bag.

Local administration had to call bomb disposal squad from Peshawar after taking the suspicious bag into custody. They said that the explosion would have caused large scale destruction if exploded. Another bomb of about 16 kilogram was found near the boundary wall of a government higher secondary school for girls. It was also defused by the bomb disposal squad.

Militants had threatened some two weeks ago to blow up the computer shops if they did not stop feeding music into cellular phones. At least four music shops were blown up by unidentified persons in the same market a year and a half ago after which almost all the music shop owners had abandoned their business. — Correspondent
