NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Feb 6: A woman and her son were killed when 14 intruders opened indiscriminate fire in their house in Saindad Jalbani village in the Kandiaro area on Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Sanam, wife of Asadullah, and her one-year-old son Abrar Ahmed. Ghulamullah, the father of Asadullah, was injured in the firing. The bodies and those injured were taken to Kandiaro taluka hospital.

On the complaint of Asadullah, the Khan Wahan police registered an FIR under section 302, 34 and 337-A(II) off the PPC against Mazhar, Nazir, Hakim, Niaz, Jan Mohammad and others. However, no arrest was made.

Area people said that the attack was the outcome of a lingering dispute over 500 acres of agriculture land situated near Fatehpur village, Dokri taluka, Larkana district. The dispute has so far claimed 10 lives.

SUICIDE: A teenage girl, Mumtaz Solangi, committed suicide by taking pesticides in Moro on Friday.

The motive behind the suicide is said to be domestic problems.

ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist, Talib Hussain, 45, resident of Mohammad Loond village, was killed when his motorcycle was hit by a car near Dheeran on National Highway.

ROBBERY: Three unidentified armed men snatched a motorcycle from a man, KhaliL Rajpar, on Kotri Kabir-Mehrabpur road.

RALLY: Growers staged a demonstration on Sada Wah bridge in the Padidan area, demanding proper water supply to Cheho Minor canal. They said that due to shortage of water, their crops were being destroyed. They demanded of the Sindh irrigation minister to look into the matter.
