KARACHI, Jan 23: The National Party Parliamentarian chief and a Balochistan minister, Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, has said that he discussed the issue of ‘disappearances’ and cases against Herbihar Marri with President Asif Ali Zardari during his visit to Islamabad.

Talking to Dawn upon his arrival in Karachi on Friday, he said efforts were being made to find out an amicable solution of the problems being faced by the Baloch people through peaceful means. He maintained that the president was serious about the Balochistan issue and was making sincere efforts to resolve it.

Mr Zehri said whether his party remained in power or not, it would not compromise on the rights of the Baloch people, adding that it was ready to give every sacrifice for that purpose.

He reaffirmed that his party would continue the struggle for the rights of Balochistan, including right of ownership on resources.

The NPP leader appealed to people to support his party in its efforts towards finding a peaceful solution to the Balochistan issue.

During his short stay in the city, a senior party leader, Aslam Keria Bizenjo, called on him and exchanged views with the party leader on the existing political situation of the country.

Later, Mr Zehri left for Quetta.
