SHIKARPUR, Jan 19: Political activists and literary and civic associations took out the rally here on Monday in protest against deteriorating law and order situation in Sindh, particularly Shikarpur district.
Speaking on the occasion, Malik Hadi Bux of the PML-N, Agha Qamar Mushwani of the SUP, Abdul Sami Bilali of the JSQM, Abdul Hameed Mahar of the JSM, Moulvi Abdul Fatah Mahar of the JUI and Mumtaz Mangi of the Sindhi Adabi Sangat expressed concern over adverse situation.
They said police was responsible for falling law and order situation as after a brief relief, lawlessness had again cropped up due to their poor performance. They said that the people, both in urban and rural areas feel insecure as no place could be called safe.
They condemned the murder attempt on National Party leader Rahim Bukhsh Jafri and throwing of acid on a midwife and expressed concern over delay in arresting the accused. Protesters demanded of the government to take notice of growing lawlessness in the district.
They also demanded action against police officials for neglecting their duties and harbouring criminals.
JOBS URGED: Members of the SSGC Sacked Employees Action Committee took out a rally and held a demonstration in Khanpur to protest the delay in reinstatement.
