BANNU: School blown up in Bannu

BANNU, Jan 17: Unidentified persons blew up a government-run girls’ high school in Norarh union council on Saturday. Police claimed to have arrested two suspected persons after the incident.

Explosive device was planted at Government Girls’ High School Attaullah Khan Norarh, some ten kilometres from Bannu city, which went off with a big bang in the small hours of Saturday destroying two rooms completely.

Police rushed to the site of occurrence and cordoned off the entire area.

They started search operation and claimed to have arrested two suspected persons.

The arrested persons were shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.

DPO Fakhar Alam Shinwari told journalists that the incident was the handiwork of miscreants to vitiate peaceful atmosphere of the district.

He said the perpetrators of the incident would soon be brought to book and be given exemplary punishment.
