PESHAWAR, Jan 17: NWFP Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain has claimed that the government has evolved an effective strategy for the protection of private and government educational institutions in the troubled Swat district.
Presiding over a meeting at the civil secretariat here on Saturday, he said that alternative arrangements for admission and examination would be ensured for the affected students of the restive valley.
Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Sardar Hussain Babak, secretary information Azmat Hanif Aurakzai, additional secretary Faridullah Khan, secretary education Mohammad Arifeen, director information Shahbuddin and director elementary and secondary education Attaullah were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Babak said that special arrangements had been made to adjust more than 50,000 affected students of the Swat district in the nearby schools.
“Second shifts will also be started in the functional schools besides providing facility of hostel and accommodation to the affected students,” he mentioned.
The education minister appealed to the parents of the affected students to avail the alternate facilities provided by the provincial government so as to save the precious time of the students.
The meeting was told that the information minister had contacted NWFP Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and security agencies to ensure protection to the educational institutions.
