THATTA, Jan 16: The Indian Navy on Friday arrested 17 fishermen and took away two motor vessels along with their catch. Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum chairman Mohammad Ali Shah said Indian forces entered Pakistan’s territorial waters near Sir Creek and seized the two vessels, Al-Ahmed and Al-Ibrahim.

The Maritime Security Agency, however, did not confirm the incident.

Mr Shah of the PFF identified some of the arrested fishermen as Mohammad Katiyar, Haji Khan, Haris, Altaf, Sher Mohammad, Khamon Solangi, Agha Solangi, Dost Ali and Amir Ahmed Katiyar. He said it was a violation of Pakistan’s territorial waters.
