LAHORE, May 13: The Punjab government is releasing special grant for purchasing medicines and necessary equipment for autonomous hospitals besides providing facilities in doctors and nursing hostels and renovating hospitals buildings.

This was announced by Punjab Health Minister Prof Mahmood Ahmad Chaudhry while presiding over a meeting of principal executive officers of the autonomous hospitals here on Monday.

Besides offering the special grants, the minister said the government was also considering to enhance running annual grants of the hospitals.

The minister asked all the PEOs to prepare and send a list of their requirements to the department at the earliest for onward submission to the Punjab governor for final approval.

The PEOs also informed the meeting about their suggestions.
