QUETTA, Jan 5: A police constable was injured when gunmen attacked a truck taking policemen to their posts on Monday. The truck belonged to the Balochistan Constabulary.
The injured constable was taken to the Civil hospital.
Meanwhile, a hand-grenade was hurled at the house of one Babar Humayun in the Sariab Mill Colony. It exploded in the courtyard, damaging windowpanes.
In a similar incident, the house of one Siraj was attacked with a hand-grenade in Mastung town, some 55 kilometre from Quetta.
In Mangoli area near Dera Murad Jamali, a rail engine came under fire.
After the attack, the Rawalpindi-bound Quetta Express and Jaffar Express were stopped at Sibi and Dera Murad Jamali railway stations. After security clearance, the trains were allowed to continue their journey.
Baloch Liberation Army’s spokesman Beebarg Baloch claimed responsibility for one grenade attack and the firing on policemen.
