HYDERABAD, Oct 25: Hundreds of residents of Makrani Para and adjoining localities including women and children staged a protest demonstration and blocked Makki Shah Road for two hours here on Thursday night in protest against the disconnection/suspension of power supply in the area.

The protesters said that they were without power and water supply for the last three days but the authorities had taken no notice of their miseries.

They also burnt tyres on the road. A heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot and tried to persuade the protesters to disperse but the angry people refused to go home.

The protest was still going on at the time of filing this report.
