HYDERABAD, Jan 2: Journalists held a demonstration outside the press club here on Friday in protest against an attack on the head office of daily Awami Awaz in Karachi.

They condemned the threats hurled at the paper’s Managing Editor Dr Khair Mohammad Juno and Chief Editor Dr Jabbar Khatak allegedly by armed activists of the Sindh National Front.

Activists of the Shia Ulema Council joined the demonstration to express solidarity with the journalists.

The Sindh National Party at a meeting presided over by Amir Bhambhro also condemned the attack and demanded registration of a criminal case against SNF chief Mumtaz Bhutto.

Members of Tando Allahyar Press Club also condemned the attack and urged the government to arrest the people involved in the attack and called for their social boycott by the people of Sindh.
