LARKANA, Oct 25: A central leader of Pakistan People’s party Mir Qadir Bakhsh Hasni on Thursday said that only an early return of party chairperson, Benazir Bhutto, can help Pakistan come out from the present crisis.

In a statement, he said that the government in the larger national interest should drop all charges against her and allow her to return to Pakistan.

He said that the PPP has roots among the masses and she could help Pakistan come out strongly.

Hasni observed that restoration of democracy was the need of the hour, and underscored the necessity to hold elections within the time-frame ordered by the Supreme Court.

He also demanded release of all political prisoners.

Our Dadu correspondent adds: A large number of workers of Sindh Peoples Students Federation (SPSF) staged a demonstration in front of the Dadu press club on Thursday.

They were demanding withdrawal of ‘fake’ cases filed against Benazir Bhutto and her spouse Asif Ali Zardari.

They were led by president SPSF Ali Bux Khaskheli.

Addressing the demonstrators Mr Khaskheli said that government had registered many fake corruption cases against former premier Benazir Bhutto and her husband Asif Ali Zardari.

He said that government also had arrested a large number of PPP leaders including Jehangir Badar, Yousuf Raza Gilani, Ahmed Mukhtiar in fake cases.

Later, they observed on token hunger strike in front of the Press club.
