NEW YORK, Oct 6: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto, who arrived in New York on Friday night, extended full support to the US-led coalition on war on terrorism.

This was Ms Bhutto’s first visit following the Sept 11 attacks and she is expected to participate in a candlelight vigil on Saturday evening.

Appearing on Fox News she also endorsed the position taken by President Musharraf in joining the coalition and in asking the Taliban to hand over number one suspect Osama bin Laden.

In response to many queries from the American and Pakistani viewers she said that she would participate in a candlelight vigil at Union Square in Manhattan.

She also expressed her sympathies with the families of those who died in Sept 11 attacks.

Bhutto said that if allowed she would participate in the general elections in Pakistan scheduled for Oct 2002.
