Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Jan 1: Eight ships, carrying containers and to load molasses and cement, are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow where four ships, Champion Pioneer and oil tankers, Hanjin Qingdao, OEL Transworld, to unload and load containers and Adriatic Arrow, to offload bulk cargo berthed after the departure of six.

The ships, which departed were led by Andreas-K, Hanjin Liberty, Clementine, Hyundai Qingdao and TS Xingang while Dina Queen, Sargodha, Hyundai Duke, Oel Transworld, Equinox Seas and Adriatic Arrow are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at wharves showed a sharp rise as total tonnage handled rose to 0.123m tons, comprising 44,486 tons of export cargo and 78,372 tons of import tonnage.

The following sips are due on Friday: Pacific Arrow to load cement, Asdrubal, to load 13,000 tons of molasses, Capriole, to load 1,800 tons of molasses, Kapitan Byankin, King Brian, Bunga Kenari, Bavaria Express and H&H Tide, with containers.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, Jan 1: Three ships, carrying containers and chemicals, berthed at the Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal, respectively, during the last 24 hours. Another ship with wheat also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.

A total of nine ships are currently occupying berths to load and offload containers, cement, rice, wheat, palm oil, furnace oil, chemicals and iron ore, respectively.—APP
