KARACHI, Dec 31: Karachi Blues and Rawalpindi recorded contrasting victories on the fourth and final of their matches in Quaid-i-Azam Trophy National Cricket Championship on Wednesday.

Karachi Blues ran out comfortable winners over Quetta by 10 wickets at the UBL Sports Complex here. Chasing a small target of 99, Karachi Blues romped home in just 10.1 overs with young opener Shahzaib Hasan smashing 59 off 30 balls with six fours and three sixes.

Rawalpindi lost another wicket on the last day before reaching their target against hosts Islamabad at the Diamond Club Ground by making 139 for seven.

The game between Sui Southern Gas Corporation (SSGC) and Pakistan Customs ended in a tame draw at the Quaid-i-Azam Park in Steel Township with the former settling for first-innings points.

Our Sports Reporter adds from Lahore: As expected all three matches in the Punjab ended in draw after play was drastically by heavy fog.

However, Lahore Ravi had enough time to claim three points at the Gaddafi Stadium after Faisalabad were all out for 290 in reply to the hosts’ 327 despite good knocks by opener Imran (83) and Usman Arshad (71).

The remaining two ties ended without any of the sides completing first innings.
