KARACHI, Dec 29: Deadly bowling by Junaid Ilyas helped Zone-VI Whites overcome Zone-VII Whites by 11 runs in the KCCA U-19 Inter-zonal cricket tournament here at the KCCA Stadium on Sunday.

Batting first, Zone-VI Whites posted a paltry 124 all out in 43 overs. Fakhar Zaman (59) batted well for the side. Later, Junaid captured seven wickets for 27 to wreck Zone-VII Whites who were dismissed for 113 in 39.3 overs.

In another match played at the Student Ground, Zone-I Whites overcame Zone-IV Blues by 23 runs. Zone-I Whites batted first to accumulate 173 all out in 46.1 overs with Israr-ul-Haq (56) being the top scorer. Later, Israr also grabbed four wickets for 43 to play a pivotal role in his team’s triumph as Zone-IV Blues were bundled out for 150 in 40 overs.

Meanwhile, Zone-V Blues defeated Lasbela District by two wickets at Landhi Gymkhana ground.

Lasbela District, batting first, made 166 all out in 45.4 overs. Mohammad Salman recorded a five-wicket haul for 30 runs.Zone-V Blues reached the target in 42 overs for the loss of eight wickets with Izhar Hussain registering a half-century.
