KARACHI, Dec 28: The National Council for Homoeopathy (NCH) has urged Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to use their good offices for the appointment of an assistant director (homoeopathy), pointing out that the post has been lying vacant in the provincial health department for about 10 years.

Dr Jawed Hussain Shah, chairman of the NCH drug quality control committee, has drawn the attention of the governor and the chief minister to the issue in a nine-point memorandum. It also contained proposals for the promotion of homoeopathy in the province.

The NCH has also called for the establishment of a separate department for homeopathy at every government health facility in order to provide cheaper and effective treatment to patients.—APP
