Seven die as car falls into ravine

MURREE, Dec 27: Seven people including four women and two children died when a car fell into deep ravine at Toheedabad near Doonga Gali, Galyaat, police and Rescue 1122 sources said on Saturday.

Six people died on the spot and one young woman died on her way to hospital.

A family from Faisalabad staying in a hotel at Murree, went to Nathia Gali in two cars. When they were returning back to Murree late on Friday night one car carrying seven family members fell into deep ravine of about four hundred feet deep.

The members of other car unaware of the accident reached Murree and waited for the other car for some time. But when the car did not arrive, they searched for them on the way to Galyaat but without success.

Next morning the locals retrieved the bodies and one severely injured women. The dead bodies and the injured lady remained in the broken car for whole night in severe cold of Galyaat where temperature is several degrees below freezing point.

Names of the dead persons are Sajid Mehmood who was driving the car, Shazia wife of Sajjad, Nasim Bibi wife of Akram, Nazia daughter of Akram, Abdullah,a four years son of Sohail, Ibra a one and half years old daughter of Sajjad and a maid Shakila.

Dozens of vehicles fall in to ravines in Galyaat area due to speeding and hundreds of precious human lives lost in these accidents.
