Four dacoits held after shootout

KASUR, Dec 27: Patrolling police held four dacoits near Khara on Saturday.

District Police Officer (DPO) Rao Abdul Karim said Khara patrolling post held the gangsters after an exchange of firing.

Those arrested are Azam, Arshad, Abid Husain and Shahzad. During interrogation, the dacoits admitted they had committed several dacoities and robberies.

They said they had established a 16-member gang and during dacoities, they raped several women.

KIDNAPPED: A man was reportedly kidnapped for refusing to pay protection money to a thug here at Usmanwala.

Zafar Iqbal was on his way when four people, including Akhtar, alias Akhtari who is among top 10 kidnappers, came in a car and kidnapped him at gunpoint.

Police registered a case and started investigation.
