MIRPURKHAS, Dec 24: Mirpurkhas city SPO Nasir Muneef Qureshi has completed an inquiry into the implication of an innocent person in a drug case by CIA police and submitted his report to the DPO Muneer Ahmed Shaikh on Wednesday.

The inquiry officer had recorded the statements of in charge CIA police Abid Kaimkhani, head constable Zulfiqar Bhatti, and other officials of CIA, besides accused Shafi Mohammad and Luqman Brohi.

CIA police Mirpurkhas had lodged a narcotic case at Town police station on December 9, which showed recovery of 10kg charas from possession of Luqman Brohi and 5kg charas from Mohammad Shafi and their arrest was shown at Khaan Railway crossing Mirpurkhas.

The inquiry was lodged after Mohammad Kamran, son of Mohammad Shafi, submitted an application to DPO Mirpurkhas Muneer Ahmed Shaikh complaining that his father was collecting hides of sacrificial animals in Hameedpura colony on the day of Eidul Azha when one Mohammad Yousuf Mari reached there and took his father on his motorcycle to an unknown destination.

He accused that afterwards his father was implicated in a narcotic case along with Luqman Brohi.

The DPO had ordered an inquiry and appointed Nasir Qureshi as inquiry officer.

According to police sources, the inquiry report said that different persons, while recording their statements, testified that Mohammad Shafi’s character was positive and he was arrested by the CIA police from a place other than Khaan Railway crossing as shown in the FIR.

The inquiry officer said that Mohammad Shafi had no link with recovery of 5kg charas as it was mentioned in the FIR, and he was falsely implicated in the case later. Both the accused were in Mirpurkhas district prison.
