MANSEHRA, Dec 24: An Afghan refugee was killed while his father and brother sustained critical injuries when two groups clashed over a petty issue near Madni Mosque on Wednesday.

It was learnt that Afghan driver, Baryalai Khan, was playing loud music in his cab when shopkeeper Mohammad Khanay, also an Afghan, and his friends asked him not to do so as people were offering prayers in the mosque.

The father of the driver Gul Mohammad and his brother Talah Mohammad came to rescue him but at the meantime someone among the opponent party stabbed him with a dragger. He fell on the ground and died on the spot.

Gul Mohammad and Talah Mohammad sustained injuries and they were rushed to Mansehra District Headquarters Hospital from where Gul Mohammad was referred to Ayub Medical Complex in critical condition. —Correspondent
