LAHORE, Dec 23: PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif has directed his party activists to cancel all ceremonies of cutting of cakes in connection with his birthday on Dec 25 to show solidarity with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on the first death anniversary of party’s chairperson Benazir Bhutto on Dec 27.
Nawaz said that Bhutto was accompanying him on road to democracy and that her tragic death had badly hit democratic forces in the country. He believed that had the former prime minister not been murdered, the national scenario would have been different.
He asserted that the best way to pay homage to the slain PPP chairperson was eliminating each and every symbol of dictatorship.
