Islamabad gets new SSP

ISLAMABAD, Dec 23: Yasin Farooq has been posted as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Islamabad on Tuesday after Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik suspended Ahmad Latif.

Mr Latif was suspended after the theft of arms seized by the security forces during Lal Masjid operation from the Aabpara police station came to light.

Yasin Farooq, a PSP officer, who was recently promoted to grade 19 has served as SSP operation in Rawalpindi for two years and the AIG motorway as well.

He was working as SSP VIP security in Special Branch before being posted as SSP Islamabad Capital Territory. He is considered as an efficient and hard working police officer.

Mr Farooq has assumed the charge of SSP office. On arriving at his office, he was welcomed by the SPs and DSPs and his staff members. In his meeting with the senior police officers, he pledged to follow zero-tolerance policy in corruption complaints and strict departmental action against those showing poor performance.
