Imran leads bankers to victory

LAHORE, Dec 22: Three-goal Imran Warsi helped National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) outclass Police 7-0 in the opening match of the NBP Gold Cup hockey tournament at the National Hockey Stadium here on Monday.

International Imran drew the first blood converting first penalty-corner in the fifth minute.

Two minutes later, international striker Tariq Aziz doubled the lead with a field goal. Haseem Khan made it 3-0 in the 13th minute. Though Police managed to keep NBP striker at bay till the half time, more miseries were in store after the interval.

Imran struck his second in the very first minute of the second half. International Akhtar Ali made it 5-0 in the 48th minute through a field attempt.

Two minutes later, Tariq banged home his second goal as NBP surged 6-0, before Imran scoring his third to seal the fate of the match.
