ATTOCK, Dec 21: Regional Police Officer Nasir Khan Durrani has directed the Attock police to prepare a foolproof security plan during Muharram to prevent any untoward incident and maintain law and order situation in the district.

The RPO has also cancelled leaves of all police officials to ensure their presence during the month.

According to a press release issued on Sunday, the RPO directed the police to make all their efforts and utilise their resources to ensure security during Muharram.

He said all issues regarding processions and other matters should be resolved before the start of the month with the consent of caretakers and organisers of mosques and imambargahs, members of peace committees and other stakeholders to ensure observance of Muharram in a peaceful manner.

He said Section-144 should be enforced in the district during Muharram and security cameras installed at the entry points of imambargahs and other places to capture the footage of Majalis and processions.

The RPO asked the police officials to follow the direction of the regional police headquarters in letter and spirit.
