LAHORE, Dec 21: The Iqbal Town division police claimed on Sunday to have arrested six people involved in violation of one-dish rule and aerial firing and displaying fireworks and explosives on marriage ceremonies and registered cases against them.
According to a handout, the Wahdat Colony police arrested Muhammad Amjad, Asim Ali and Abdullah during raids at different marriage ceremonies.
The Gulshan-i-Ravi police held Mian Tariq and Mian Riaz during raids at Bilal Banquet Hall and Milan Mehl Banquet Hall.
The Samanabad police arrested Muhammad Khaliq from Dulhan Marriage Hall.
The arrested people included family members of bridegrooms and brides and staff of banquet halls. According to the handout, the campaign against violations in marriage ceremonies was in full swing on the directives of the chief minister.
ARRESTS: The Mustafaabad police claimed on Sunday to have arrested five members of a gang and recovered two motorcycles, eight cell phones, valuables and illegal weapons from them.
According to a handout, the police arrested ringleader Nadeem Masih, Tauqeer Shah, Shahzeb, Muhammad Ahmed and Amjad Khan, who were involved in several robberies.
The Mughalpura police claimed to have arrested three members of a gang and recovered Rs60,000 in cash, four cell phones and illegal arms from them.
A handout said that Muhammad Danish, Adeel Munir and Naeem Ahmed wanted in several street crime incidents were arrested from Shah Kamal Road.
