KARACHI, Dec 20: Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza has ordered all possible measures to curb drug trade, gambling and other anti-social activities in the province, asking the police to take action without any discrimination against those found involved in such activities.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, the minister warned that strict departmental action would be taken against any police personnel found in league with anti-social elements operating drug and gambling dens.

He took serious notice of a report concerning such dens and wine shops being operated under the patronage of some police personnel in Malir.

The minister asked the DIG (east) to take action against all those involved in such activities and present to him a report within the next seven days.—PPI
