Murder case against SHO, four others

NAROWAL, Dec 19: A murder case was registered on Friday against the Qila Ahmadabad station house officer (SHO) and four other policemen for killing a man in custody.

Police registered the case against SHO Javaid Cheema, ASI Muhammad Riaz, constables Safdar and Tahir and muharrar Shahzad Khan under sections 302, 342, 156 and 147 of the PPC for the murder of Saleem, 20, on the complaint of his father, Liaquat Ali.

Accused arrested Saleem on suspicion of his involvement in a dacoity and tortured him. Later, police returned him to his family in a critical condition which took him to Jinnah Hospital in Lahore where he died on Thursday.

Police arrested SHO Cheema and muharrar Shehzad and were after the remaining accused. — Correspondent
