KARACHI: KBA polls today

KARACHI, Dec 19: Around 4,700 members of the Karachi Bar Association will go to the polls on Saturday to elect six office-bearers and a 21-member managing committee for the year 2008-09.

Following are the candidates contesting from different panels:

President: Mohammad Ali Abbasi and Faheem Riazuddin Siddique.

Vice-president: Abdul Hameed Yousufi, Mohammad Nazir Tanoli and Syed Manzoor Ahmed.

General Secretary: Hakim Ali Shaikh, Naeem Qureshi and Mohammad Javed Memon.

Joint Secretary: Ashaq Satti, Masood Hussain Khan, M. Rehan Qureshi, Qazi Ajmal Kamal, Rahila Khanum and Tariq A. Khan.

Treasurer: Farhana Ali, Marzia Begum, Syed Fateh Ali Shah and Zardar Khan.

Librarian: M. Aslam Dahri, Saleemullah Deerio and Sohail Baig Noori.

There are 32 candidates in the run for the 15-member managing committee.
