RAWALPINDI, Dec 18: A woman was shot dead after being tortured during a robbery, while two others were killed in separate road accidents in Shahzad Town area on Thursday, police said.
Sajida Bibi, 40, a mother of four daughters, was shot dead by some gunmen who entered her house in Tench Bhatta and later escaped with gold ornaments and other valuables on Thursday morning, police said.
Sajida Bibi, whose husband was abroad to earn his livelihood, was found dead on her bed when her daughter returned home from her university.
Police said the victim had torture marks on her chest and a bullet wound to her head. Five gold bangles which she had been wearing were also taken away by the robbers.
The body was handed over to the woman’s family after the postmortem.
Meanwhile, a teenage girl was killed after being run over by a car on Kuri road, while another died in an accident in Shahzad Town.
Mohammad Tufail told Shahzad Town police that his daughter, Sowayra Bibi, was crossing the road when a speeding car knocked her down and sped off from the scene.
In another incident, Khalida Bibi, 16, was crossing the road when she was hit by a car in Shahzad Town police area.
The police have registered a case against the car driver on the complaint of her father, Mohammad Yunas, and started investigation.
Meanwhile, two vehicles were taken away by some thieves from different parts of the city.
Nasir Raza’s van was stolen from R.A. Bazaar while Islam Raja’s car was taken away from Sadiqabad.
