LAHORE, Dec 17: Army retained its title winning the final of the MCB national Inter-departmental baseball championship defeating Wapda by an innings with the final score 11-10 played at the Iqbal Parks Sports Complex on Wednesday.

At the start of the ninth innings, Army were leading 11-9. But as Wapda, batting first in the ninth innings could add just one run, the defending champions did not have to play their ninth innings to win the final.

from behind and earned four runs in the 7th innings against Army’s two to make it 11-9 But in the ninth innings it could add just one run bit in vain.

For Army, Imtiaz Ahmad, Farooq Khan and Sarfraz scored two runs each. Kamran Iqbal, Zafar Junior, Iftikhar Ahmad , Khawar and Rashid Bolouch added one run each. For Wapda Mohammad Usman, Sajid Hussain, Mohammad Asif added two runs each. Zaheer Khan, Khurram Khan, Imtiaz Butt and Mukkaram scored one each.
