BATKHELA: Shop blown up in Batkhela

Published December 18, 2008

BATKHELA, Dec 17: A makeshift shop of contraband items was blown up by suspected militants near Batkhela bus stand on Wednesday night. However, no casualty was reported as nobody was present at the cabin when the explosion occurred.

Unidentified persons planted an improvised explosive device at the makeshift cabin shop near Gharhi bridge a few yards off the Batkhela general bus stand, which went off at 8pm.

The shop owner, Ihsanullah, has reportedly received threats from suspected Taliban militants asking him to wind up the un-Islamic and illegal business. His other cabin shop used for the same purpose was also blown up a month ago. The blast was so severe that it was heard far and wide in the Batkhela city.
