Published December 16, 2008

KARACHI, Dec 15: The Commission Pass Lecturers Action Committee, Sindh, on Monday organized a demonstration outside the Sindh Secretariat to demand appointment of SPSC-qualified lecturers in government colleges as recommended by the Sindh Public Service Commission.

About 100 SPSC-qualified teachers from Karachi, Sukkur, Hyderabad and Larkana regions took part in the demonstration. They were carrying banners inscribed with slogans demanding the issuance of their appointment letters.

The participants maintained that they had appeared in the SPSC examination and the result was declared in January 2008.

They claimed that the government issued offer letters to the successful candidates on May 26 and they all were to get appointment letters. However, the letters were issued to only 11 of them.—PPI
