MULTAN, Dec 13: Attorney General of Pakistan Sardar Latif Khan Khosa said on Saturday that Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) considered the Nov-3 act of previous regime as unconstitutional.

“However, parliament will take the decision regarding the fate of deposed Chief Justice Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry,” he told newsmen at the local airport.

Answering a question, he said that matter pertaining to the Farah Dogar marks case was under process at the forum of parliament and the court and they would decide it. He denied reports that Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar was going on long leave.

Khosa said that the parliamentary committee had the authority under the constitution to look into the marks case.

Answering a question about the cancellation of licenses of presidents of high court bar associations of Multan and Peshawar, he said that those who had violated rules and regulations would face its consequences.

The AG said that non-appearance by Mian Nawaz Sharif before the court did not amount to contempt.—APP
