Three held with one kilo hashish

KASUR, Dec 11: A-Division police claimed to have arrested three drug pushers and recovered one kilogram hashish and about 500 bottles of liquor from them here on Thursday.

Acting on a tip-off, the DPO constituted a team that stopped a car near Zaki bus stop and recovered the contraband and liquor from it. Police also arrested Tanveer Bhatti, Shan and Yaseen of Allah Ditta Town.

A case has been registered against the accused.

KILLED: A minor girl was killed while nine others, including the Jamaat-i-Islami’s Pakpattan amir, sustained serious injuries in separate road accidents here on Thursday.

Reports said a family was going to Mustafaabad from Ghandah Singhwala by their car. Near Bhullu on Lahore-Kasur Road, their car overturned in a bid to save a motorcyclist. Consequently, Aimen Anam, 6, died on the spot while Shafique, driver Ramzan and three children suffered serious injuries. They were rushed to the local DHQ Hospital.

Dr Muhammad Akram, Pakpattan JI amir, along with his three friends was heading towards Lahore from Pakpattan by his car when a speeding trailer hit it near Dina Nath on Multan Road. As a result, Dr Akram and his friends received serious injuries. They were taken to hospital.

SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead and his two brothers were seriously injured by rivals at Cheena Arla here on Eid day.

Reports said Atta Muhummad along with his brothers Ghaffar and Jeewan Lal were returning to his house after offering Eid prayers when Arshad and his accomplices fired at them. Consequently, Atta Muhammad died instantly while his brothers suffered injuries. They were shifted to a Lahore hospital in critical condition.

Police have registered a case against the accused.
