One killed, five hurt in accident

SHIKARPUR, Dec 7: A truck driver was killed and five people were injured when a trailer collided with a stationary truck on Indus highway near Lahori Wah in the jurisdiction of Naparkot police station early on Sunday morning.

The trailer, which was coming from Punjab, hit the truck. The truck driver, Abu Bakr, died on the spot while trailer driver Gul Khan and four other occupants of the truck and the trailer sustained injuries.

The injured were identified as Abdul Baqi, Mohammad Zaman, Saeed, and Mohammad Nawaz. All the injured were sent to Khanpur hospital, where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

Police impounded the trailer and the truck. The body of the truck driver was handed over to his relatives after legal formalities.

RECOVERED: Police recovered a kidnapped man from dacoits after an encounter near Peer Phattan Shah graveyard on Madeji-Dhakan link road.

Dhakan police said that acting on a tip-off; a police party conducted a raid near the graveyard when the kidnappers were shifting Mohammad Juman Soomro, a rickshaw driver by profession, to some other place.

Soomro, a resident of village Sono Khatti, was kidnapped by eight armed persons near Pir Chhuttal Shah graveyard on Dec 4.
