NAWABSHAH, Dec 6: The judicial crisis which began on November 3, 2007 has almost been ended with the help of the Bar and civil society.

This was stated by the Chief Justice of Sindh High Court, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, while addressing the members of the District Bar Association Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah) at the judicial complex here on Saturday.

He said that the purpose of his visit to various bars of Sindh was not only to inaugurate the old constructed buildings but to start a process of confidence-building between the bar and the bench.

He said that if there was any deficiency in judicial system it could not be removed within months and bench and bar should work together for supremacy of the judiciary.

In response to the demand of establishment of high court bench at Shaheed Benazirabad District, he said that there were 29 provinces in India and the Supreme Court was only established in Delhi with a concept of centralization and so that all the litigants could reach Delhi.

He said that if high court benches were established in each district, young lawyers would not have an exposure to learn from lawyers and judges.

He further said that funds for the installation of elevators in judicial complex were available and they would be installed within six months.

He said that the demand of establishment of ATC, anti -corruption and banking courts within the available space around the judicial complex in the district would be reviewed as the same was done in Hyderabad.

Ali Mohammed Dahiri and Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, President & General Secretary of the District Bar Association Shaheed Benazirabad respectively welcomed the chief justice at the judicial complex.

The president of the DBA demanded of the chief justice for establishment of high court bench, banking, anti-corruption and ATC court at Shaheed Benazirabad.

Earlier, the chief justice of the Sindh High Court received warm welcome and guard of honour upon his arrival and he inaugurated the judicial complex building, bar room and the official website of district bar association.

The chief justice was accompanied by Amir Hani Muslim, Justice Faisal Arab, Justice Athar Saeed, Justice Arif Hussain Khilji and Justice Sajjab Ali Shah and Registrar of the Sindh High Court, Abdul Rasool Memon.

Our Naushahro Feroze correspondent adds: Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Anwar Zaheer Jamali opened a newly constructed judicial complex in the city on Saturday.

The chief justice said in his address to the bar that close cooperation between the bar and the bench and hard-work would ensure prompt justice to people.

The general-secretary of DBA requested the chief justice for the establishment of a lawyers’ colony.
