LAHORE, Dec 1: Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik, has urged all Test playing countries to reject the trend of boycotting cricket activities due to terrorism as the game itself is not threatened.

Speaking to the media, Malik made an impassioned appeal, saying this was the time for all cricketing nations to get together and help each other instead of boycotting the game.

“The postponement of the Champions League and two one-dayers between England and India due to terrorist attacks in Mumbai is not good for the future of cricket.

“In order to counter its affects further on the game, all of us should unite on a single platform and should continue with our cricket,” he said.

Malik said he would be happy if England resumed their tour of India for the two Test series, starting from Dec 11.

The recent security problems on either sides of the border have put India’s tour to Pakistan in January-February in jeopardy.

The Indian authorities have to give security clearance to its team for the much-awaited tour but the current tensions prevailing between the two countries have even blurred the possibility of playing the series at neutral venue.
