SHEIKHUPURA, Dec 1: Three students were killed while

15 passengers sustained injuries when a speeding coaster overturned here on Sharaqpur Road on Monday.

According to an eyewitness Usman, a coaster carrying dozens of students and passengers was on its way from Sharaqpur to Sheikhupura. The conductor, commonly known as ‘Maulvi’, was driving the vehicle while the driver was sitting beside him and attending his cell phone.

Near Traggawali, the tie-rod of the vehicle broke down and it overturned. As a result three students -- Waqas of Class-X, Fahad Ishfaq of Class-IX and Irum of Class VI -- sustained injuries and died in the DHQ Hospital.

Fifteen passengers sustained injuries. Of them Hanif, Rafique, Murtaza and Aslam are said to be critical.
