SUKKUR, Nov 29: An elderly man Mohammad Moosa Indhar reportedly paid a heavy price for slapping his wife some 33 years ago as since then he was kept chained in a dark room of a house in village Inayat near Pano Akil.

According to reports, one Asghar Ali informed the police that Mr Moosa of Haleji Sharif was passing his days in illegal detention by his brother-in-law Noorul-Haq in the village for last 33 years. The SHO Pano Akil Karim Bux Lakho raided the house and arrested Haq.

Haq told the police that Moosa was being kept in a dark room as he was mentally retarded. On which police left without even trying to ascertain the real case.

Sources claim that in 1975, Mohammad Moosa Indhar had slapped his wife on some petty matter upon which Noorul-Haq chained him and kept him in a dark room since then.

Sources said that due to long isolation, Moosa had lost his senses and was not able to walk because of lesions on his feet.
